What a fantastic three days of racing at Bridger! BSF hosted the Bridger YSL series for U8-U14 racers, consisting of two days of Giant Slalom and a day Slalom! A few days prior to this event, snow conditions were soft and not looking favorable to getting 200 - 230 athletes with two race runs each day. However, the weather cooperated and by Friday morning the race hill was in good shape to pull off all the races. This race series was the largest number of athletes we have hosted in a long time and was successful because of our A-team of volunteers and parents.
Friday was a beautiful sunny day that had the athletes and coaches stoked for racing. This excitement continued through the next two days of racing. We had a great showing from BSF athletes representing about a quarter of the field, with some athletes competing in their first USSA race to U14’s trying to qualify for championship events. BSF finished 2nd in the overall team award out of 12 teams.
BSF U14’s and U16’s will be competing at Big Sky Super G race February 10th-12th. The next YSL race will be at Great Divide February 18th and 19th. Results from Northern Division races can be found at https://www.northerndivision.us/races-and-camps and https://livetiming.usskiandsnowboard.org/
