UPDATE!
As we continue to refine our programs and provide the best development pathway for our athletes, we’re making an important change: the Devo Pro team is now The Prep Team and will move under the umbrella of our high school Comp Team.
What This Means:
The Prep Team remains a middle school program (7th - 9th grades), but it will now be more closely aligned with our high school Comp Team, as both follow the same regional race program. Training locations will be the same for the Comp Team and the Prep Team. However the training volumes and structure will still be tailored to be age-appropriate. This shift ensures a smoother transition for those who want to continue with competitive skiing in high school. We’re happy about this transition and believe it will create a clearer and stronger pathway for our athletes. Let us know if you have any questions!
The Nordic Prep Team (formerly Devo Pro) is for athletes who have the motivation and intention for an increase in training and racing. Athletes on the Prep Team are highly encouraged to travel to and race in the regional races, as well as all local races. This team serves as a bridge between the Development Team and the Competitive Team with athletes following the Long Term Athlete Development Plan (as laid out by U.S. Ski and Snowboard).
Prep Team athletes can travel to all IMD races with BSF. U16 8th graders can train with the Comp Team once a week (coach approval).
The Prep Team utilizes a systematic approach to training and competition, while still playing games, developing skills, and having fun. Prep athletes will have occasional training sessions with both Devo and Comp Teams.
Please communicate with coaches to see if this team is the right fit for you before you register.
BSF takes a holistic approach to skiing, focusing on technique, fitness, and strength, as well as personal wellness, team dynamics, and team culture. We are here to help athletes reach their full potential and meet their personal goals; but we're also here to have fun and help them grow into great people.
BSF takes full advantage of the trails we groom near/in town, as well as nearby Crosscut Mountain Sports Center. During dryland, we live the ultimate Bozeman life--running incredible mountain trails, roller skiing, mountain biking, playing games, jumping in the water to cool off and more. BSF also offers optional team camps to Prep Team athletes in each season to provide additional training experiences.
Summer & Fall: 3 days a week. Plus one strength session.
Winter: 4 days a week.
Fall will be at in-town parks and trailheads close to town. Winter mainly at Sunset Hills/Lindley & Highland Glen and Crosscut Mountain Sports Center. Registration includes one additional strength training session a week.
Note: pro-rated discounts are not offered.
