Freestyle Assistant Comp Coach

Program Goals and Responsibilities:
The Freestyle Assistant Coach is responsible for carrying out coaching duties with Bridger Ski
Foundation in Bozeman, MT. The Freestyle Assistant Coach reports directly to and works closely
with the Freestyle coaching staff and Freestyle Program Directors, and the general BSF
community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Proven record of leadership.
● Work well with kids in age ranging from 11-18 years old.
● Have excellent communication both in person and in writing, including interpersonal
and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and
personalities.
● Proven ability to work and make decisions and solve problems independently,
effectively and creatively.
● Work well under pressure. Maintain a thorough, organized and detail-oriented approach
to work.
● Present, inform and motivate individuals and groups about BSF’s mission to recruit and
retain athletes and coaches.

Time Commitment/Benefits:
● Part Time position
● Starting date: December 2024 (preferred)
● Coaches that can work both Saturday and Sunday will be prioritized
● Compensation: $125/Day
● USSS license and First Aid/CPR training

Assistant Freestyle Intro & Devo Coaches

ALPINE COACHES

Bridger Ski Foundation is seeking enthusiastic Alpine seasonal coaches for our 2023-2024 programs. Individuals with a love of the sport, strong skiing skills, positive attitude, strong work ethic, desire to learn and enjoyment of teaching young athletes are a must!

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

  • Devo U10/U12 Alpine Coach
  • Intro Alpine/Freestyle Coaches
  • Alpine Masters Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience coaching alpine racing
  • USSA Coaching Certification
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with athletes
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with staff
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with parents

RESPONSIBILITIES: Athlete training, preparation, & administration

  • Adhere to the guidelines and policies of BSF as prescribed in the BSF Employee Handbook
  • Be on time to prepare equipment (gates, timing, video) for each training session
  • Support Head Coach and share coaching, course setting, course and track maintenance, video and timing responsibilities as directed by Head Coach
  • Be available to lead free-skiing sessions when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, staff, and parents
  • Utilize video review/archiving techniques online (google drive)
  • Meet with athletes, coaches, and parents for program nights/explanations
  • Assist with Dryland conditioning sessions as needed
  • Assist with equipment recommendations and maintenance for U10/U12 athletes
  • Administer goal setting and along with Head Coach keep track of each athlete’s goals and participate in athlete evaluation.  
  • Attend meetings as necessary
  • Assist Alpine Program Director with events as needed
  • Assist with Club wide events as needed
  • Attend end of year awards banquet

Equipment

  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of equipment as necessary

Professional Development

  • Review technical videos and publications
  • Attend professional development courses/clinics/seminars to upgrade/update personal skills

NORDIC COACHES - INTRO & DEVO

The Bridger Ski Foundation is seeking enthusiastic Nordic Skiers and community members to serve as Intro Nordic Coaches for our 2024-25 Programming!

Interested in working with young skiers to develop social skills, teamwork, FUN, and ski skills? We offer regular, part-time coaching positions with young skiers of beginner-intermediate ability ages 5-14. 

Have prior experience coaching? Great! We provide ongoing coach and leadership education to all Intro & Devo Coaches to help you learn, grow, and get more out of your coaching and community leadership experience.

No prior experience coaching? Great! We want to invest in YOU! Let us provide you with the resources, tools, and team to help you grow into a coaching and youth leadership role! Great for our community; great for your resume.
