It's ski racing season. There's a lot you and your child's coaches can do to make ski racing a great experience, or a really bad experience. Kids compete to have fun (that's what they tell us). Too much focus on performance and results make it not fun. Remember: fun is part of the mental toolbox for athletes. Focusing on enjoyment actually improves performance.
Hopefully you've already keyed on the Five Most Important Words you can tell your kid when they're racing: "I love watching you ski."
