BSF brought 25 junior athletes to Soldier Hollow to compete in the Western Regional Junior Championships.  This event pitted Bozeman athletes against the best skiers throughout the western US.  Head Coach Andrew Morehouse noted, "We had several top results and personal best performances including podium finishes from Natalie Nicholas, Woody West, and Peter Hinds."

In the 5-km freestyle, U16 skier Natalie Nicholas from Bridger Ski Foundation won in 16:53. In the 5-km classic event, BSF's Woody West took second in 13:36. Peter Hinds was third in the U18/U20 division 10km in 24:21.2. In the 1.5-km free sprints, Hinds also took third. In the 5k classic U16 female group, Ally Wheeler of BSF was fourth in 16:01.2.

Morehouse said, "While this season has felt especially challenging, I was proud of the way our athletes maintained focus, supported each other, and had fun while enduring a grueling back to back to back series of races in tricky snow conditions."

This season BSF was not offering team transportation or lodging, so athletes had to travel to races with family to compete.  "The strength of our team showed in the way they cheered each other on and pushed each other in training, even when the team environment seemed socially distant," said Morehouse.
