The 2026 Western Region Junior Championships at Grand Targhee Resort brought together top U18 and U21 athletes from across the western U.S. for several days of high-level FIS racing. Representing Bridger Ski Foundation, Ellie Hirn had a strong series, finishing 2nd in slalom and 11th in giant slalom both race days, showing impressive consistency against a deep field.
Teammate Nadine Hansen also had a solid championship. She finished 15th in giant slalom, moving up 16 positions from bib 31. In slalom, Nadine made one of the biggest moves of the race, charging from bib 57 to 17th place, climbing 40 spots in the results.
Last weekend the BSF Devo Alpine Team competed at our Northern Division Championships at Great Divide. We had over 40 athletes competing in Slalom, GS and Kombi events over three days. All our athletes skied incredibly well, with two U12's, Anders Gaasch and Liesl Crumb placing second in the series overall, and the BSF team placing second in the season standings.
One athlete, Francis Sanchez, won the esteemed Andrew Fitzhugh Award, a scholarship given to an athlete who has shown incredible promise throughout the season and embodies the spirit of ski racing.
