Marcus Engler

Trails Team Member of the Year

Marcus is a cornerstone of the trail crew, and a dedicated BSF volunteer when events call. Most folks will recognize him as the “face” of Bridger Creek grooming, often stopping for a friendly chat with skiers along the way. When he’s not out on the trails, he’s usually fishing, hunting birds, or working in his blacksmith shop. His handiwork will be on display next winter with our new trailhead kiosks. Thanks to Marcus and the entire crew for a great season!

Nick Lux

BSF Nordic Volunteer of the Year

Nick is currently at the end of his third year serving as chair of the BSF Nordic Committee and plans to step down at the end of the season. During his time with the Nordic Committee, Nick has brought an incredibly high level of organization, professionalism, and passion to the group, all while recruiting and maintaining a team of parent volunteers who each deserve recognition for their incredible volunteer work. A long-time member of the BSF Nordic Community, Nick has consistently chosen to share his time, energy, and kindness with everyone. His leadership will be missed, but he has laid the groundwork for BSF Nordic to continue the growth he has fostered.

Kristen Minarik

BSF Alpine Volunteer of the Year

Kristen’s commitment to BSF Alpine–as well as her generosity with her energy and time–proved invaluable to enhancing the parent, coach, and athlete experience for the 2025 season. From stepping into a new role as Alpine Committee Chair to developing an online parent resource hub and assisting new BSF parents as they navigated the world of ski racing, Kristen has taken an active role in touching all aspects of our Alpine programming for the better. We are incredibly grateful for her ongoing, above-and-beyond support.

Megan Roesler

Alpine/Freestyle Intro Coach of the Year

This was Megan’s second season coaching for BSF. Megan is currently a student at Montana State University, where she’s studying Elementary Education, Spanish, and Spanish Teaching (K–12). Through her program, she’s had the amazing opportunity to work in many schools across the Bozeman area. Megan is a BSF gem, and one we hope to keep around as long as possible. Her drive and passion for skiing paired with her love for teaching makes her an all around favorite coach.

Zoe Livran

Alpine Coach of the Year

This was Zoe’s first season coaching for BSF after a few-year hiatus from the ski racing world. Zoe leads with positivity and intense focus on her athletes. She sees the bigger picture, focusing on wellbeing and mindset while simultaneously providing an intensive training environment. Zoe is an inspiration to anyone that gets to interact with her on the ski hill!

Garrett Murtha

Freeride Coach of the Year

Garret is a first-year coach for BSF. He was hired immediately for his strong skills in youth education and his passion for skiing. He deserves the Coach of the Year Award for his optimism, skills, and trust. This man is not only a good skier but a great teacher!

Josh Lucas

Freeski/Snowboard Coach of the Year

Josh approached us with the idea of starting a competition snowboard team for kids that want to develop their skills in the terrain park. After meeting with Josh initially and hearing about the passion he has for both snowboarding and kids, it was obvious that he was someone who fit BSF’s core values and culture. Josh had an incredible impact on his athletes, and the BSF community this year. He always showed up with a smile on his face and brought positive vibes regardless of what the conditions were. He went over and above what was asked of him, looking for ways to help develop his athletes on snow and off.

Lucy Wood

Nordic Intro Coach of the Year

In energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to the personal growth, development, and wellness of each BSF skier she interacted with, Lucy Wood was an outstanding and integral part of BSF Nordic Intro this season. Whether offering leadership and language skills to BSF’s rapidly growing multilingual programming, facilitating strong lessons in ski and life skills, or working with the broader BSF leadership team to identify opportunities for expanding accessible programming, Lucy’s attention to detail and commitment to youth touched the lives of many for the better and will doubtless continue to do so for many years to come.

Jacy Rothschiller

Nordic Adult Coach of the Year

Jacy trained for her PSIA Level 1 last winter and then helped with our adult intermediate skate skiers and training group sessions. This season she stepped up with taking the lead on more sessions and with workout design. Jacy is a lifelong learner with a keen eye for individual progress. She found her coaching voice more easily this season - building off of her confidence from last year. Her students celebrate her well-planned workouts and appreciate her emphasis on movement analysis and enthusiasm for growth. We are grateful to have Jacy on the teaching-learning-coaching journey with the adult crew!

A huge thanks to our 130+ coaches for a fantastic 2024-25 season!
