At BSF, we're here to bring your skiers as far as they can go. But we don't make cuts to the team. We have skiers aiming for podiums at Junior Nationals, who dream of college athletics and the U.S. Ski Team, and we have junior racers who are just as committed to the sport, with equal passion but with different ambitions and different abilities. We celebrate this, and we hope you do, too.

Please know that your child, no matter where they land in the results, has a place with BSF throughout the years. Why? Because this is about the long game: life skills and a lifelong sport. Because athletes develop at different rates. Because sometimes the more valuable team leaders aren't the top athletes.

In his article "Winners & Losers," Dr. Jim Taylor describes a conversation with a not-very-good ski racer in a top U.S. ski program. He writes, "One day I was riding the lift with Brian and I asked him why he ski raced given his results. He turned to me and said, 'Jim, are you kidding me? I’m living the dream!' I looked back at him, smiled, and said 'Brian, you may not be a very good ski racer, but you are going to be incredibly successful at something.'"

Which is to say, we hope your kids feel like they're living the dream with BSF. Let's give them the space to grow, learn, support their teammates, and find their path, whatever it may be.
