2019 Sun Valley Super Tour

Bridger Ski Foundation Nordic Team athletes wrapped up their first period of racing when the The Super Tour made it’s second stop of the season last weekend, with a classic sprint and freestyle distance races in Sun Valley, Idaho. The Super Tour is where the best domestic skiers in North America battle it out during the season, hoping to earn invitations to race on the World Cup and in the World Championships. SuperTour races also include divisions for junior racers as well, and Bozeman was well presented.

Andrew Morehouse, the new BSF Nordic Program Director and Head Coach said, “We had 25 individual athletes from ages 12 to 36 competing this past weekend in Sun Valley, and I was incredibly proud to see them come together as a team to support the pursuit of their goals.  I am looking forward to watching this team build on these results throughout the season.”

On the SuperTour side, the Bozeman husband/wife duo of Erika Flowers and Olympian Andy Newell both put on the BSF uniform to race in the elite races. Erika took 4th in the sprint and finished 4th among the senior women and 5th overall in the 10k. Andy placed fifth in the sprint finals and 16th in the 15K.

On the Junior racing side, BSF’s Phinneas Fischer won both the U16 Men’s Sprint and the U16 5K. Teammate Max Kluck finished on his heels, with a 2nd place in the 5K and 3rd in the sprint. BSF’s Anna Alexander took 4th in the U16 sprint. For U14s, Reeve Alexander was second in the girls 3k, while Landon Wyatt won his U14 Sprint final and the boys 3k.
