The BSF Alpine teams powered through a busy couple of weeks on the road, with an impressive tally of results and three athletes qualifying for appearances at the Junior National Championships. The BSF Comp athletes skiing the FIS circuit have been on a tear, with Evin Haworth, Octavia Fisher and Max Larimer all earning a spot at Junior Nationals.
For the Big Sky speed series, U14-19 qualifying event, the team skied really well overall, said BSF Alpine Program Director Pete Petry. "Lots of consistent skiing throughout the weekend. Big Sky experienced a ton of weather throughout the weekend and the schedule had to be adjusted daily to accommodate extra time for clearing fresh snow from courses."Team scores:

Feb 1-4, 2020 Open FIS Series
BSF Coach Kenny Wilson led a small group of BSF skiers for this event: Riley Asbell, Sydney Rogers, Amelia Volk, Evin Haworth, and Max Larimer. They had consistent top ten and top 15 results throughout the series by all athletes. Good competition was provided by local Alyeska ski club athletes as well as Division 1 NCAA college skiers from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Jan 25-30, 2020 Open FIS Speed Series
Octavia Fisher participated in the Super-G portion of this event and walked away with two 2nd place finishes! Combined with her strong tech event finishes, these Super G results really sealed the deal for her national junior championship qualifying. Awesome skiing by Octavia!
Feb 8-11, 2020 Elite FIS Tech Series
Feb 8-11, 2020 Elite FIS Tech Series
Coach Kenny Wilson led a small group of BSF athletes to Utah over the past weekend. Max Larimer, Octavia Fisher, and Evin Haworth participated and gave the athletes great exposure, as fields were very competitive, with a number of college athletes in attendance. Both race venues, Park City and Snowbird, provide challenging race hills.
In other exciting news, we have have three BSF athletes leading the point standings for Northern Division, where an overall point system is used based on finishes in all races held in Northern Division. U21 athlete Amelia Volk leads her age group. Riley Asbell and Max Larimer lead the U19 age group. With only a few northern events left, the Red Lodge series coming up next week, and the OHG Championships here on home snow at Bridger, these athletes are in a great spot.
