Jennie Bender, a member of the BSF Nordic Elite Team won the Classic Sprint in difficult conditions at the U.S. Cross Country Championships in Soldier Hollow, Utah, last Sunday. It was her fourth national title.
BSF sent a large group of Nordic skiers from the Elite, PG, and Competitive teams to Utah for the championships. (A number of BSF alumni also competed with their respective teams.)
During a week of difficult and ever-changing race conditions, BSF skiers put in some solid results. Shortly after the championships, several announcements for international qualifications were made:
- BSF Elite Skier Corey Stock is one of five women named to represent the USA in the upcoming Under 23 Cross Country World Championships, to be held in Soldier Hollow.
- BSF Comp Team Skier Sofia Shomento was one of six females named to the US U18 Nation's Cup Team. She'll travel to Norway to compete against the best U18s in Scandinavia.
- Cole Morgan, a BSF alum, was named to U.S. Team for the 2017 U23 World Cross Country World Championships and he was also named to the 2017 USA NORDIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM.
- Logan Diekmann, a BSF alum, currently skiing at the University of Utah, is one of five men named to the 2017 USA JUNIOR NORDIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CROSS COUNTRY TEAM.
